2019 - Week 2 Recap

Week 2 Recap Can you believe week 2 has already come and gone? Where does the time go? We'll all be old and lonely before we know it. Father time waits for no man. Life is flying by and it scares me deep into my bones. I lie awake at night pondering these things some times. Anyway, what was I talking about? Oh right football. Is it just me or have football games been kinda shitty this year? Maybe I'm just watching the wrong games. It's either shitty teams grinding it out against each other or a good team dropping a load on a bad team. I have yet to watch a truly competitive football game. Thank god there's fantasy, because our first recap was a down to wire nail biter. Jono - 2 Girls 1 Kupp (1-1) vs Sak - Thielen Myself (0-2) Jono needed heroics from Matt Ryan Sunday night to pull out the W and Matty Ice did just enough to make it happen. Giving Jono a 146.1 to 144.4 win over Sak. Ryan's 3 TDs and 3 INTs was precarious, any shift of the wind would have knocke

2019 - Week 1 Recap

Week 1 Recap Oh week 1. Always comes in like a wrecking ball to destroy off-season narratives. Narratives like the Browns will be good, or Raiders suck without AB, or Jono will stop using his commissioner powers to cheat and get first pick. Now that the dust has settled, let's take a look at the insanely high scoring match ups under the new league rules. I will refrain from talking too much shit this week because of how weird week 1 was, don't want to eat too much crow. Mat - DaDell Hopkham Jr (0-1) vs Dylan - The Sixth Wentz (1-0) Welp, I got my shit wrecked. Dylan scored 180 to my 138 and he was still only the 3rd highest scoring team this week. This should give you a good indication of how this season will go for this league. Dylan cruised to victory by playing a bunch of Eagles players. He started Wentz, Ertz, DeSean Jackson, and the Philly DEF (AND JAKE ELLIOT) . Very questionable decisions all around but it worked out for him. He's probably only one of fifteen

2019 - Draft Grades, the REAL Draft Grades

Arbitrary Draft Grades AKA I say some words about everyone's draft to get the bad blood going. Here we go boys, futbol is upon us. What an epic 19 round draft. Let's see how I can already start messing with people's heads with the written word in a quick overview of everyone's draft night. Me being a narcissist, I will start with myself. Mat - DeDell Hopkham Jr (0-0) I ended up with 2 receivers who have a more than zero chance of ending the season as the 2 best receivers in fantasy. That's my dream and I'm sticking to it. More likely they'll both be hurt by week 5 and I'll be really pissed I jinxed myself in this post. RB combo of Gurley and Conner could conceivably make some noise as well. As of now, my team looks stacked, except I'm sure everyone else's is stacked too. Lets take a look. A++ Dylan - The Sixth Wentz (0-0) Dylan doesn't have to change his name because he drafted Wentz once again. Going with the ol' home

2018 - Week 11

Week 11 Recap We have a very special treat this week. Famed sports columnist Michael Sakoda is appearing as a guest writer on our humble publication. As a taco himself, he took on the recap between the other two tacos Fuki and Lee. And of course, his own match up with the Jono, who clinched the first playoff spot this week. Overall, a lower scoring week where all the favorites won except for yours truly. Capped off with a wild MNF game that ended up being the 3rd highest scoring game of all time. Let's see how that affected the matchups. Playoff rankings will likely shake out in the next week or two. So ease of schedule will be very important from here on out. I'll include a small blurb about each person's ROS schedule in the recaps. Guest Recaps by Sak Fuki (4-7) 113.28 vs Lee (3-8) 97.88 Billionaire tycoon, Lee, has oft been criticized for his decisions as owner of The Big Gronkowski, and perhaps those cries for his removal from the front office will be even lou

2018 - Week 10

Week 10 Recap Matchups What a wild week. 8 out of 10 teams scored over 120. Which means lots of people who did well and still lost. Womp womp. Jono (8-2) 128.56 vs Brad (6-4) 123.84 Jono continues his winning ways. Todd Gurley bounces back from a pitiful 16 point performance the week before to post a respectable 23 points (but seriously fuck this guy). Jono strategically went out and picked up MVS last minute to plug in at flex, who ended up getting him a whooping 0.8 points more than the next best bench player. So strategic. We'll finally see Jono at full power next week with Dalvin Cook back to pair with Gurley. He'll have one of the best RB combos in the league. Brad barely lost this one. No one would have predicted that TEN would shit on NE and make Sony Michel useless in his return. He can take solace in knowing that there was nothing he could have done differently to win this one. He left a few points on his bench, but not enough to make a difference. He's hangi

2018 - Week 9

Week 9 Recap Matchups The top 4 teams have begun to separate themselves from 5th-10th place with a 2 game advantage. Playoff seeding is beginning to take shape. Mat (3rd 6-3) vs Fuki (8th 3-6) Same shit different day. Once again I get matched up with the 2nd highest scoring team and I win by scoring the highest. This is getting to be kinda weird how often this happens. Fuki had a solid chance of beating me, jumping out to an early lead on Sunday with CMC doing work. It pretty much came down to a Sunday night battle between Tom Brady and James White. The Patriots ran the shit out of the ball but White had to exit the game for about a quarter with an injury. That tipped the scale in my favor. Going into Monday night, Fuki needed 13 points out of Dallas defense and got 7. I can't even tell if Fuki is just doing it to fuck with us at this point, but he actually went out and grabbed Fitzpatrick after Jameis was benched. And it worked out for him, Fitz put up a nice 26. Don't l

2018 - Week 8

Week 8 Recap Power Rankings: Recaps are back at it again after a 1 week hiatus. Let's start with a quick power ranking since we're officially halfway through the fantasy season. 1. Justin - He's on a 3 game winning streak with the most points for in the league. 2. Jono - 2nd most points for and the best record, his loss to Mike this week knocks him down to #2. 3. Mat - Bounced back with the most points scored after scoring something like 60 points the week before. 4. Brad - Brad and I are pretty much same same but he's coming off a bad loss and least points scored. 5. Mike - Mike's made strides since the last ranking, he's got a lot of points scored against him and he's still hanging onto the .500. 6. Dylan - Dylan's another rags to riches story, going from the bottom to .500. He's coming off a loss so I had to rank him lower than Mike. 7. Fuki - He's got more points for than me. A series of bad matchups has him 2 games under .500. We&

2018 - Week 6

Week 6 Recap Matchups: What a high scoring week. Only 1 team scored under 100 and only 2 teams scored under 118. That means a lot of people's players went off and still disappointed their owners with a loss. Let's see what that looks like in the matchups. Mat vs Sak Just give me the damn trophy already. After scoring the most points last week with 147, I outdid myself and scored the most points with 157 this week. My team is firing on all cylinders except the flex spot, but that's just a product of bye weeks. I shouldn't have that problem barring injuries when we get to the playoffs. I would highlight specific players but I have studs across the board. I will mention Julio Jones because I haven't lost since I traded for him and he's still yet to score a touchdown (most yardage in the league since, but who's counting?) Sak performed admirably after hitting rock bottom a few weeks ago. If his team keeps doing this well, he still has a chance to fight for

2018 - Week 4

Week 4 Recap Jono vs Mat Just like my QB1, Tom Brady, I came up against an undefeated team. And like him, I reminded everyone that I'm the best in the business and exposed the opposing team. Jono's 3-0 team is a paper tiger that I quickly turned into a crying tiger (that's Jono's AIM screen name from high school for those that don't know). Jono needed 60 pts after the Sunday day games with Pat Mahomes, John Brown, and JuJu yet to play, so there was a serious possibility of him winning still. Mahomes and Brown put up solid efforts but JuJu only scored single digits for the first time this season to hand me my victory. Jono's WR1 and WR2 under performed in general, but that's to be expected when the two of them belong to two of the worst teams in the league. As for me, somehow Michael Thomas puts up 7 pts but the trade for Julio is starting to pay dividends. Now if he'd only catch some touchdowns. Brad vs Justin Brad is starting to look like a powerhou
